Just a quick update since some have asked.... We did get a loan! Our prayers have been answered yet again. They are trying to get the house finished up completely this week. We were scheduled to close on it this Friday but we're not sure if it will happen. At the least we should be able to close and move within the next two weeks. We'll let you know how it turns out.... The house is looking really nice, I'll try to get some pictures as they get everything cleaned up.

The good and the not so good....

These next few are from a couple of weeks ago at the park...

We've had an interesting week. The week started off pretty good with a nice Mother's day. Charlie and the girls fixed me up with some new clothes and a nice Sunday lunch. From there, the week just kind of turned south. Note the scrapes on Allie's face in the first picture. Charlie's parents have a mule named Bonnie that the girls have recently started riding. She's still pretty young, so she's not full grown. Well, Wednesday Allie took a spill off of her and landed on her face, on the concrete nonetheless. So she came home with a swollen, scraped up face. Her teeth were all in tact and nothing seemed to be broken so we think she's fine. And in case you're wondering, it hasn't slown her down any. Two days later, it is looking better.

One good bit of news is our house should be finished next week. They are getting the flooring and paint done. And... the outside is almost all bricked. Looking good.... but then comes the bad news. Yesterday, around 3, our banker informed us that our loan fell through. Just a note of warning; if you are considering buying a house, just stop now and forget it. This whole banking fiasco is a NIGHTMARE! Since we started with trying to get a construction loan till now, our loan has fallen through about 3 times now. So now, our banker thinks they can swing some other kind of loan, but we won't know anything till Tuesday. We will see how it goes.

Weekend trip to the Big A-town...

Friday afternoon we headed out west to Amarillo to pick-up our cabinets for the house. Why Amarillo? Well, kind of a long story, but essentially a friend of my brother is a cabinet maker and he made us a good deal on all our stuff. So off we went. It was a nice little trip; we stayed at a hotel and the girls and I got to swim (always a highlight for them!) while Charlie went to load the cabinets. We had to rent one of those big u-hauls to load everything, but it worked out well. Saturday we headed back and we stopped off and had lunch with Charlie's grandma. We had a nice visit with her and I think she got her fill of our three wild girls :) Once we got home, Charlie and Karl (our builder) unloaded all the cabinets, then yesterday we got to see them all laid out. They look really nice. They haven't been stained yet, but it is definately starting to look like a house on the inside.
